In this workshop, participants will examine the significance, application and career opportunities of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. They will receive hands-on instruction on how to create a GIS Story Map using ArcGIS web-based software – a system used by law enforcement and other government agencies across the world. The session will also show participants how to obtain a free K-12 ArcGIS site license for their classrooms (valued at over $2000). This workshop is part of the Nebraska GIS Initiative, which is a collaboration between ESRI, the Nebraska CIO Office, the Nebraska Department of Education and Geographic Educators of Nebraska.
